Day 1, Monday:
Having registered in the morning, we had an orientation talk in the afternoon, went to the pilgrim house for an introduction to the
two Shrines, and then visited both of them.
For all Shrines, respect requires shoes to be removed. In the Shrine of the Báb the tablet of visitation was chanted in Arabic, then in the Shrine of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá the tablet of visitation of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá was recited in English; we were asked to stand for these, because of the large number of pilgrims (101 in 2 small rooms), although it was made clear later that there is no general requirement to stand for these tablets.
The Shrines were then open to us during the rest of the day for silent prayers. Words cannot express the spectacular and spiritually moving atmosphere at each Shrine, you must go and experience it for yourself.
In the evening we had talks by the two remaining Hands of the Cause, Mr.Furutan and
Dr.Varqa. |
